There are those who say that the above is a very sad perspective of things
in India.
And that's where the magic word comes in ….."rationality"
One exists because of it and there is no denying the fact that we do use it
in our daily lives to a great extent. It's the convenient way in which we
forget the tenets behind the rationality that is responsible for this state
of affairs in a big way.
We have issues like Bandit queens and Ammas and oh dear we also have beaten
the women's bill in parliament quite too often…….
The parliament on the other hand passed the draconian right to information
bill with some "changes". Are we even aware that they are not only
not responsible but also not answerable?
We take in and surround ourselves with what we get…we get what we want
to take in…
This circle continues….
We have found
the convenient way of lowering ones values instead of living upto them..
Its not that corruption has grown in the past years. Its just that we have
come to accepting it as a way of life and now it is so.
A solution CAN be found for any problem -- if the existence of the problem
is accepted. If people refuse to recognize that there's a problem, whither
solution?
Every BJP member - including Vajpayee, Advani and Jaswant Singh -is dishonest.
For that matter so are the rest of them,the congressmen,the senas and the
dals
They cannot exist if not so.
We all know this and ….
Kashmir? Militants roam freely and strike at will. The complete collapse of
the security environment is manifest in, to name just one incident, the massacre
of the Amarnath yatris.... Truth is , I have stopped being affected by reports
of terrorist attacks - so often is their occurrence.
Has any politician ever been punished for anything yet? Rather those had to
have been punished have become politicians. There are three professions in
the world that do not need any qualification. One is politics... The other
two are prostitution and journalism.
What we read is what they want us to read…
Today journalism is sold to the taker per se.
Otherwise why would the V.H.P. spokesman say…let them write what they
want in the hinglish newspapers our junta don't read them…
and for that matter …its only the amount of money that changes hands
that varies whether it is the English or local media
The tribal wisdom of the elders, passed on from generation to generation,
says that when you discover that you are have a dead idea, the best strategy
is to forget it. In modern society, however, a whole range of optimistic strategies
are employed, such as: buying a better thinker, changing views, threatening
the dead idea with termination, appointing a committee to study the idea,
arranging to visit other countries to see how others deal with dead ideas,
lowering the standards so that dead ideas can be included, hiring outside
contractors to ride the dead idea, harnessing several dead ideas together
to increase the speed, providing additional funding and/or training to increase
the dead idea's performance, doing a productivity study to see if school dropouts
would improve the dead horse's performance, rewriting the expected performance
requirements for all ideas, promoting the dead idea to a supervisory position
etc.
….And we say" it happens"
Let us review our ideas about ground realities and building opinions about
issues -- independently, untouched by popular trends, and without buckling
under pressure…
And hopefully in time…………..It will succeed
